چکیده
Almost ten thousand people are affected by cardiac arrest, and the prevalence tends to increase every year in Indonesia. Nursing students need have skills performing basic life support (BLS) survival rate of patients with arrest inside or outside hospital. An effective method for facilitating gaining such is educational simulation. This study aims identify effectiveness simulation improving students' providing BLS. a quantitative quasi-experiment pre-posttest design. The sample all fourth-year at Poltekkes Kemenkes Mataram who had emergency classes previous semester. Data were collected using observation sheets analyzed Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test before after they given simulations. Before video was implemented, most respondents insufficient carrying out BLS, 11 (55%) falling into this category. Only two (10%) demonstrated good conducting After simulation, acquired perform BLS "good" category, 32 (82%) exhibiting these skills. There no sufficient poor Educational significantly influenced (p=0.000). It can be concluded that applied as an alternative learning process.

Short lessons in basic life support improve self-assurance in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
BACKGROUND There are several reasons why resuscitation measures may lead to inferior results: difficulties in team building, delayed realization of the emergency and interruption of chest compression. This study investigated the outcome of a new form of in-hospital cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training with special focus on changes in self-assurance of potential helpers when faced with e...

متن کاملSurgical Simulation: Validating Methods to Improve Orthopaedic Resident Skills Competency
Surgical reconstruction of fractured extremities is a complex procedure that orthopaedic residents must master during training. Currently, training is based on an apprenticeship model, which while beneficial, is not uniform and does not provide any means to assess skills competency. Surgical simulation can help address shortcomings in the training model by providing residents opportunities to (...
